Our re-designed major allows you to examine past, present, and future influences of Britain and America on your country and the world through an interdisciplinary course of study conducted in English. You will learn how the language, communication, technology, arts, history, literature, and politics of Britain and the United States shape British and American society, affect your community, and impact global dynamics.

Unlike a traditional major in which you only focus on one academic subject, BAS ALLOWS YOU TO TAKE A VARIETY OF COURSES TO EXPAND YOUR KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND INTERESTS.

You will study arts, humanities, social and political sciences, digital media, and communication, so you will graduate with broad intercultural understanding, international perspectives, and professional skills necessary for intellectual advancement, problem solving, and employment.

  We have re-designed the BAS major so that you can choose to take more courses on subjects that interest you as early as your second year of study! And, if you wish, our major allows you to also create an area of concentration through a variety of upper-level classes and electives. For example, if you enjoy arts and literature, you can enroll in more courses under that category, while reducing the ones in other signature areas: foreign relations and government, culture and history, and communication and digital media.

  The BAS major is made up of three components: core classes, four signature areas of study, and electives. As a whole, our curriculum empowers you to think and solve problems from multidisciplinary perspectives, while providing breadth, flexibility, and customizability for future possibilities.
